Location and starting points
La Martin mountain hut is located in Haute Tarentaise, between Villaroger and Tignes. It is nestled in a mountain pasture in the heart of Vanoise National Park, and you will enjoy a wonderful panorama over the Mont Blanc massif and the Chevril Lake.
In order to reach us, you can choose between several easy and marked trails suitable for families.

How to get there by public transport:
There is a daily train service at the train station of Bourg Saint Maurice.
Then, a bus (book your ticket here) will take you to:
- Tignes Les Boisses - 1800 (top of the dam of Tignes)
- Tignes Les Brévières (bottom of the dam of Tignes)
- Tignes Le Lac
How to get there by car:
From Bourg Saint Maurice, follow the road D902 toward Tignes - Val d'Isère. According to the path you have chosen, park in:
- Village de La Gurraz (21 km from Bourg Saint Maurice)
- Tignes - les Brévières (23 km)
- Tignes 1800 - Les Boisses (25 km)
- Tignes le Lac (30 km)

1. From the village of LA GURRAZ
Waterfalls, mountain streams and alpine pasture... Enjoy the view over the Nant Cruet dell and the glaciers of La Martin and La Savinaz, as well as the freshness of that big waterfall. You will probably cross the path of the goats or the cows in the pastures... A family-friendly hike, charming and full of pleasurable breaks.
Access: Park in the Chantel area, at the exit of the village.
Itinerary: Follow the sign indicating the mountain hut. Follow the asphalt road on 300m until you reach a bifurcation: take the path going up on your right. Follow that path to the mountain hut.

2. From TIGNES – LES BOISSES
A family hike on a charming balcony path above the Isère valley, after a short but steep climb. Enjoy the view on the Chevril Lake and the sudden appearance of the Mont Blanc massif.
Access: At Tignes’s dam, turn right to “Les Boisses”. Park on the free parking lot below the starting point of the hike, in front of the Boisses ski lift.
Itinerary: The path is very well marked, follow the signs! Follow the airpin bends on the ski slopes to the Sache dell. Cross the bridge over the stream of La Sachette and follow the balcony path to the hut. There is a shuttle service between les Boisses and Tignes le Lac (more information at the Tourist Office of Tignes).

3. From TIGNES - LES BRÉVIÈRES
A wonderful hike in a preserved natural environment! The path will lead you through the freshness of a larch forest and in a luxuriant vegetation, and then you will cross a stream under a waterfall and walk the finals hairpin bends in a pasture.
Access : Park in Les Brévières, at the bottom of Tignes’s dam.There is a huge parking lot on the right bank, next to the Sache ski lift.
Itinerary: Cross the bridge to get to the left bank. Turn right and follow the track next to the river, then follow the marked trail to the mountain hut.

4. From TIGNES - LE LAC
Access: At Tignes’s dam, turn right toward Tignes le lac and follow the road to the ski resort. Park where you can!
Itinerary: Start the hike behind the Tourist Office of Tignes, next to the Palafour ski lift. Climb a bit on the ski slopes to a balcony path leading to the Sache valley. Cross the bridge and follow the path going to les Boisses. Welcome to the Vanoise National Park: follow the balcony path to the mountain hut.
